May 30-31 - 3rd Annual Palisades Parade of Roses

Just found this info on the web - I know that the dates might make it hard for any of us to attend, but thought it is worth sharing in case anyone might have an interest:

"Varaison Vineyards and Winery in cooperation with David Austin Roses has integrated a beautifully landscaped garden into the winery facility at 405 W. First Street, Palisade, CO. David Austin Roses is the world’s only producer of Old English Roses, and is the premier breeder of the English Shrub Rose. In the 1950’s, David Austin embarked on a mission to combine the beautiful flower forms and fragrances of old roses with the wider color ranges of modern roses. The result of this internationally recognized rose is an expression of deep rose
aromas consisting of Myrrh, spices, and the old rose scent.

"The garden consists of a mass planting of 1400 Old English Roses in a scaled replication of the famous Nyman’s Garden of East Sussex, England. This planting at Varaison Gardens makes it the largest single planting of David Austin Roses in North America."
