May 30-31 - 3rd Annual Palisades Parade of Roses
http://www.varaisonvineyards.com/index.htm
"Varaison Vineyards and Winery in cooperation with David Austin Roses has integrated a beautifully landscaped garden into the winery facility at 405 W. First Street, Palisade, CO. David Austin Roses is the world’s only producer of Old English Roses, and is the premier breeder of the English Shrub Rose. In the 1950’s, David Austin embarked on a mission to combine the beautiful flower forms and fragrances of old roses with the wider color ranges of modern roses. The result of this internationally recognized rose is an expression of deep rose
aromas consisting of Myrrh, spices, and the old rose scent.
"The garden consists of a mass planting of 1400 Old English Roses in a scaled replication of the famous Nyman’s Garden of East Sussex, England. This planting at Varaison Gardens makes it the largest single planting of David Austin Roses in North America."

Welcome to the 2009 Tanner Family Reunion Blog!!
Welcome to the 2009 Tanner Reunion blogspot, a place where you can find information about the upcoming family reunion. Check back often - we will post more information for you as it becomes available. This year's organizer, Judy Norris, is busy making plans for everyone to have a great time. The weather is expected to be pleasant - not too hot, not too cold. There are plenty of interesting things to see and do in Grand Junction: it is near Colorado's Wine Country; there are several fruit and nut orchards (Palisade is the "Peach Capital of Colorado"), Enstrom's, a wonderful candy and ice cream store (for those with a sweet tooth), and the Rockies are close-by.
Bookmark this site and check back often - we will be posting more information and updates about the reunion frequently.
There will be a Meet & Greet on Friday, 5/29 at 10:30 at St. Paul Evangelic Lutheran Church, 632 26 1/2 Rd. It is a small brown building on the on the corner of 26 1/2 Rd & Horizon Drive. The afternoon is "free" time - spend it visiting some of the fabulous attractions in and around Grand Junction.
